How to Use the Affirmations Tool

Please read the Power of Affirmations and Music first, if you have not read it already.

Affirmations are specially worded positive statements. This Affirmation tool effectively accommodates different learning styles, so it is effective for all types of learners - visual, auditory, or kinesthetic.

To use the Affirmations tool, first, Login by clicking the "Login" link on the top right corner of the Affirmations page. Then, select a category. Then, type the entire statement twice into the textbox. Then click the “NEXT” button. Do this for any 5 statements in a category to complete one session. If you wish, you can enter more or as often as you like.

(Keyboard Shortcuts: Next = Alt + n, Previous = Alt + p)

When you type, it doesn't need to be case sensitive. You may read it aloud before, during or after you type. Another way to complete a statement is to type it once and then type only the main points or keywords from that statement.

If you want, you may choose to work with only one category for a week. Or, create a customized list of affirmations by adding them to your favorites in a specific category like "My Self-Affirmations 1". (See My Favorites section below).

Score Points: You will get 1 point per category, per day when you complete a session. You can complete different sessions in different categories, in a day.

You will lose a point per day for the days missed. After you reach 21 points you only have to complete one session per week, in a category. You will lose a point otherwise. Goal is to achieve and maintain 21 points in a category.

A nice thing about this tool is, it keeps track of your scores when you complete your affirmations on a day-to-day basis. You can see your score by clicking "View My Scores" link.

My Favorites: You can choose the affirmations you like and add them to your favorites. In your favorites, you can 'Add' a new, 'Modify' or 'Delete' an affirmation. You can also create your own list of affirmations by adding them to "My Self-Affirmations 1", "My Self-Affirmations 2" etc.

Example: I wanted to create affirmations for my own specific goals. After login, I selected “My Self-Affirmations 1” in Category, and clicked on “My Favorites”. Entered the following goals into the textbox and then clicked “Add New”:
1. I am on track to accomplish ___________________ by July 6, 2006
2. I am making an excellent progress towards the completion of ___________________ by August 10, 2006
3. I am well on my schedule to complete ___________________ by August 31, 2006
4. I will complete ___________________ by September 30, 2006
5. I will complete ___________________ by January 25, 2007
Clicking the “Refresh” button will refresh the affirmations to show recently Added/Modified statements. If I want to change them, I need to go to the statement I want to change, enter the new text into the textbox and click the “Modify” button.

In your favorites, the affirmations will be ordered alphabetically. So, to have them ordered in a particular way, you can prefix them with a number.

21 Day Challenge: Take the 21 Day Challenge! Are you up for a challenge?
Choose one or two categories you want to work with for next 21 days. After 21 days you can consider other categories.
Goal is to achieve and maintain 21 points in a category.
You can get maximum 1 point per category, per day, until you reach 21 points.
You will lose a point per day for the days missed.
After you reach 21 points you only have to complete one session per week, in a category. You will lose a point otherwise.
This will also test and build your descipline.

Music: Optionally, listen to the soothing, relaxing music (or a music of your choice). Studies have shown that slow (60 beats per minute) music brings the heart rate down to relaxing levels, calms the mind, and increases memory, learning abilities and effectiveness. You can listen to the music continuously or intermittently during a session.

Music Help:
- On the Affirmations Tool, click on the image Affirmations, Relaxing Music to play the music.
- If you need a music player, get a Windows Media Player or an Apple QuickTime Player. Free.
- To save the music to your computer, right click the image Affirmations, Relaxing Music and select Save Target As... and then select a location to save the file.
- To play the music continuously: Save the music to your computer. Then, in the Windows Media Player top menu, select Play and then click Repeat. And then play the saved music file.

If you miss a day, do not worry about it. Simply continue next day from where you are. As Tony Robbins says “Past does not equal the future.
